[文摘]:A random biphase coded waveform with random interruptions is proposed for high power monostatic radars requiring a 'thumbtack' ambiguity function. Attention is given to the statistical properties of the ambiguity function, which is a random function; these allow image quality and target-detection performance to be defined through an indication of the threshold needed to discriminate against other targets and clutter at different ranges and velocities. Also important is the degree of non-Gaussian character of the sidebands, as an indicator of system-noise or target-related signal status. (AIAA)
