[文摘]:In order to clarify the origin of diffuse omega-like peaks in beta-brass, which appear at k(m)(q) near the ideal wave vector k(omega)(q) = k(2/3,2/3,2/3) position but offset by Delta-k(q) to higher angles, a quantitative estimation of elastic energy is made under an assumption of heterophase nucleation of ideal displacive omega-phase (Burgers displacement). The elliptical depleted region of the elastic energy with the minimum value at k(m)(q) indicates predominant responsibility to the strong streaking and offset of the diffuse intensity of omega-phase. In case of diffusion-controlled omega transformation, it involves compositional change, which results in the expansion or contraction of the lattice. This so-called 'Bain distortion' with volume changes exhibits extra elastic free energy in the bcc matrix. It is shown that, in either case of Burgers or Bain distortion, the magnitude and shape of the 111-line LA mode of the phonon dispersion curves near k(omega)(q) solely describes the elastic energy for omega-phase transformation.
