[文摘]:A global sensitivity analysis technique called Latin Hypercube Sampling was applied to a model of high-altitude (above 70 km) rocket plumes to obtain a priority ranking of the significant reactions in several spectral regions. ^The model, known as the Composite High Altitude Radiation Model, includes a two-level model of vibrational excitation process used to obtain excited-state populations. ^Excited state populations are computed through reference to a library containing the temperature-dependent reaction rates for 179 vibrational excitation processes which govern these populations. ^Quantitative sensitivities for specific reactions were determined for a number of spectral regions, and a phenomenological explanation for the observed sensitivities is given. ^(I.S.)

[文摘]:Nonrepairable systems are defined as the systems which can not be repaired during operations an aircraft and its function systems are nonrepairable systems. Based on the fault modes of subsystems and elements, this paper proposes the concept of semicut set and nonfull fault tree, gives the process of obtaining semicut set, discusses the difference of the nonfull fault tree and the traditional two-state fault tree, applying fuzzy set theory, and establishes a composite evaluating model of system reliability concerned with function states. [文摘]:This study deals with the utilization of piezo-electric actuators in controlling the static deformation of flexible beams. An optimum design procedure is presented to enable the selection of the optimal location, thickness and excitation voltage of the piezo-electric actuators in a way that would minimize the deflection of the beam to which these actuators are bonded. Numerical examples are presented to illustrate the application of the developed optimization procedure in minimizing the structural deformation of beams of different materials when subjected to different loading and end conditions using ceramic or polymeric piezo-electric actuators. The results obtained emphasize the importance of the devised rational procedure in designing beam-actuator systems with minimal elastic distortions. (Author)
